RajeshRajesh joined the Ashirvad Home at the age of 4. His mother did not inform us of her ill health. She was suffering from HIV. Once this child joined the home, we realized he was a brilliant boy. So we put him in the best school in Nagpur and nurtured him. After he had lived with us for 3-4 years, we got news that his mother had passed away. This was around the time that Ashirvad began its initiatives with HIV infected individuals. We realized that his father and brother had passed away earlier. On further investigations, we found out that the mother passed away due to HIV. After many years, the grandmother came to Ashirvad to take Rajesh back as her other sons were now working and were able to take care of him. So he was sent home. His uncle's took good care of him and provided for him. He completed his 10th in 1st division and now is completing his engineering in a reputed Engineering college.

ShikhaShikha was a smart, beautiful, little girl when we first met her. Her parents succumbed to HIV/AIDS and left her orphaned at 7. Her parents were sent to Bangalore to 'ACCEPT' hospice. They came back to Nagpur quite well after almost 8-10 months stay and treatment. During the summer in Nagpur Shikha's mother being weak died of heat stroke. Close to a week before her death she asked us to ensure that her daughter will never be on streets after she becomes orphan. She was given a beautiful Christian funeral after which the father left the children and got married again, had a son and later died. Shikha continued her studies staying with her extended family. She completed Class X in the year 2010, Class XII in 2012, after which she wanted to work with Ashirvad. Being a first class student she deserved to study further and so we admitted her into Padhar Nursing School in Betul, MP. This year she completed her Nursing Course and has started working in Chinchpada Mission Hospital. She wants to work among the needy and those who cannot afford medical care.
